I Love My Little House On The Dead End Street

I love my little house I live in, on a dead end street. My house was built by my grandparents back in the early 40′s. We’ve done some renovation e.g. Richard Burbidge fusion stair parts added, but tried to keep the original feel of the property.
In fact, the place had to be rebuilt half a century ago: they lost the original house in the early 50′s to a fire. They lost everything they had in that fire, and had no insurance. My grandmother’s family owned a saw mill, so her brothers and my grandfather rebuilt the house back by themselves out of rough sawmilled oak timber, and my grandfather would work on the hardwood floors at night after work putting the boards in one by one. My grandmother always said after that, that they were insurance poor, cause they had more insurance than they needed if anything like the fire happened again. My dad was also raised in this house. Growing up I heard alot of stories about what had happened in the house and around it.
Memories have been told over and over again having to deal with this house, as well as me having my own very special memories about it too. I now own the little house on the dead end street had have for 13 years now. I love it because it feels like home to me. All the memories I have, and the stories that I have heard time and time again makes me feel like I belong here. I have seen some bad and hard times living in this house, but have seen good and great times also. And the good outways the bad by a long shot. I now have two children of my own and hope that they will find the comfort and love that I feel from this house.
