Lifting heavy is key, as lighter weights and more repetitions will not help you gain mass. Find a weight that you can lift for 5 to 7 repetitions until being completely depleted, without sacrificing the form of the last repetition. Your diet is the last key ingredient to muscle weight gain. Although indulging in fats will help you gain weight, weight from fats isn’t the desired outcome. A diet that is high in protein with a decent amount of carbs and fats will allow you to build a body that is lean and muscular.
