If you have gotten injured recently and broken a bone you might have been really mad that you would need a cast which not only limits your movement but makes it very annoying to do simple tasks such as taking a shower which now requires a plastic bag to protect the cast from getting wet. You definitely do not want the cast to get wet or else it might start going to waste and irritate your skin inside.

However, nowadays you can actually get a waterproof cast cover which can protect your cast and even allow you to go take a swim! Yes, with a waterproof cast protector you can enjoy a swim because it will be a plastic “stylish” bag around your arm that will not allow any water to get inside since they are usually air tight shut. Of course, make sure to read the instructions very carefully to make sure it’s very well applied. It’s probably best to test it in a shower instead of going directly for a swim. You can usually find these casts using with a quick Google search or go directly to Amazon which has most of the available models in its stores. There are plenty of models and make sure you get one that fits your size. Theirs models for infants, children and adults and it is of course very important to get one that will specifically fit you!

As previously mentioned some models will be very tight around your arm to not allow air to get inside. Other models are simply very “sticky” and as you unwrap them around your cast they will stick to it. Both type of waterproof cast cover are re-usable so choose whichever feels and looks best to you. They are usually not very expensive and you can probably get a good model for around $20 for the more basic models.
